How to Measure Your Windows
Want to know how to measure for window blinds from Window Blinds Mall? All you need is paper, pen and steel tape for accurate measuring of window blinds. Please measure the blinds and then each window that will have blinds. Now you can begin measuring a window for blinds!
When deciding where to mount your custom window blinds, you have the choice of an inside casing mount or an outside casing mount. If you plan to accent your window and install window blinds and curtains, inside mounting is the way to go.
If you want to keep out those bright rays that sneak into your bedroom on a Saturday morning, consider outside-mounted blinds, where you can add a few overlapping inches to block out more light. To ensure that your custom window blinds fit properly, please measure blinds and then follow the instructions below.
Inside Casing Mount
If you plan to mount your blinds on the inside casing, the window must have a minimum depth if you want to install the brackets flush with the wall. Please see the minimum bracket depth requirements below.

Measuring for Inside Mount
1. Measure the inside width of your window in 3 different places and use the narrowest width.
2. Measure the inside length of your window from the top of the window opening to the top of the windowsill. If there is no windowsill, measure to the desired blind length.
3. State your measurements to the nearest 1/4 inch.
4. The factory will take deductions on inside mounts to allow for installation clearance. Do not take deductions.
5. When placing your order, always give customer service the width measurement first and height/length second.
Minimum Bracket Depth Requirements
Aluminum Blinds: 1-1/2 inches
Faux Wood Blinds: 2-1/2 inches
Real Wood Blinds: 2-1/2 inches

Measuring for Outside Mount
The measurements you give us will be the exact measurements the factory uses to make your blinds, so you must add inches for overlap. Follow the steps below to get accurate measurements.
1. Measure the exact width and length of the entire area you want to cover. If you would like extra light control and privacy, we recommend that you add the following to your measurements:
Horizontal blinds -- add 1 to 1-1/2 inches on each side and 3 inches to the length
Vertical blinds -- add 3 inches minimum on each side and 3 inches minimum to the overall length
2. State measurements to the nearest 1/4 inch.
3. When placing your order, always give customer service the width measurement first and height/length second.
